lkp upcoming dates

Well, I apologize for the lateness of this one, and the lack of last week. I was getting ready for vacation, and never made it to the computer. THEN, all my good intentions went out the window when I had massive troubles staying online at a starbucks, and after a half hour on the phone with TMobile, I gave up. So, here we are, Friday morning quarterback! The past couple of weeks have been a zoo to say the least. The Blazer rocked for NASCAR weekend on Friday, our beloved Chi Chi was back, and we all had a blast. The coors light girls were there for a minute, rock 101 was there for setup, and David Stremme was there to shake hands and have fun with the locals. A good time was had by all, and we rolled into Saturday. Saturday was the last day with the old band truck. I can’t say that I’m going to miss her, but she did do us well for the better part of 5 years. So, with a few thousand miles under her hood, and a number of times left stranded, we’ll move on to the new LKP family truckster! Let’s just say, big enough for all the band equipment and the motorcycle! So after a week of prepping, installing and doing all the things that were needed to make it work for us, we headed out for the 4th of july weekend festivities. Up to Naples, and if you haven’t been there, come up and play with us! This bar is great, the staff is great, and the location is hard to beat. Right on the water, and plenty of things to do if the weather stinks. We dealt with some rain, but had time to test our skills in the arcade blowing stuff up, and testing out the bill of fare at the upstairs bar overlooking the lake. Thanks to all the winter folks that made the trek from Sunday river and the surrounding areas to play with us again! We had a great time, and are looking forward to our return there next weekend!

This weekend is a special one, with the celebration of my old drummer Keith’s big birthday. HE is the reason that we don’t play Love Gun by KISS. Other than that, he has been a constant supporter of the band for years, and we couldn’t say no when the time came to play the big day. Our apologies to those who were hoping to see us in Barre, but I had made a long time promise, and we had to switcheroo the date. We’ll be back in Barre in no time! Keith is also the reason for the new truck. The last thing I needed was to drive to CT and get stuck with old Bessie losing her mind! So, new wheels and a cool gig. Happy birthday, big Al! (inside joke – I hope). Saturday will be our return to the Rusty Nail. This one is gonna be huge. The women’s tennis tourney is in town, and the Williams sisters, and Maria Sharapova (sp?) are in town for US vs. Russia. The Nail is the place for Saturday night! The likelihood that we’ll see anyone famous is slim, but we’ll dream for the time being and say that all the famous peeps in the world are going to be there to see us. Hey, a kid can dream, can’t he? At any rate, it should be one not to miss. Come out and play, and we’ll see who shows up!

The past few weeks awards go to:

The hot wheels award goes to Dave at Dobles for setting us up with the new wheels!

The return of the Jedi award goes to Chi Chi, who always seems to know what we are thinking before we do!

The computerus interruptus award goes to Tmobile and Starbucks. I guess I’ll just wait till I get home.

The merch sales award goes to the entire staff at Rick’s Café. We’ll be reordering soon so we have more stuff for next time!

And the narcolepsy award goes to room 2 at the Romah in Naples. ‘nuff said.
