upcoming lkp dates

Well, well. What a weekend. We’ve had busy ones, and then there was this one. Let’s just say that it’s hard to get Barre that drunk, but it seemed to work on Friday. Loads of new and old faces, and lots of fun. Plenty of revelry to go around, and then we were headed off to ski country just for giggles. The Nail was off the hook. That’s all I can say. Offers to play in Europe, and we’ll see if that pans out. Anyone for Madrid? Or did he say Milan? We met more people from around the world than I think we have ever met at a single gig. Can you say Austrailia, Brazil, Hungary and Montenegro? OK, I needed a geography lesson on the exact location of Montenegro, but I will have to assume that there are mountains there, and that they are black? And the people in Hungary are usually up for a meal, too, smarty pants. And, well, the people in brazil must love wax, just to finish out the joke. We had a total blast, and we’ll have to see if we can top it in the coming weeks. Let’s just say that our next return to the Nail is St. Patrick’s day, so look out!

This weekend sees a little change. We were supposed to be doing the full weekend at Deegan’s at Mount Snow, but the weather has made them decide to skip entertainment on Friday night. So, change of plans. Party at your house on Friday? Let us know, we’ll do it. We’ll be at Deegan’s on Saturday, and make the most of it.

We’ll be cranking it out the following Friday at our return to Electra, so get ready for some old haunts, and some more fun as ski season winds down and we get ready for spring!

This week’s awards go to:

The warren award goes to “warren” for his dance skills!

The farthest distance award goes to Jenny from the Block, or Jenny from Austrailia as we like to call her.

The surprise award goes to Carol. You know why.

The best return award goes to the squirrel that got into the basement. Possessed? Rabid? Don’t know, don’t care. He’s out and hopefully finding his nuts elsewhere.

And the narcolepsy award goes to kyle. I’m assuming he got to sleep on the ride home.

upcoming lkp dates

Now that the trails are open up in the north country, the crowd at the Outback was jammin! The Blazer on Friday night was nothing to sneeze at as well. Just another fun weekend is what we’d have to call it over and over again. The Blazer is definitely coming into it as one of our new favorites as we get used to that room, and the fact that there are a lot more people in the room than we can see! The way the room is split up keeps it cozy, with some of the people on the dance floor are actually closer to being on stage. Honorary members of LKP are just fine, and the stage won’t allow many there, but it’s worth a shot! Now that snowmobiling is actually a reality, the Outback was probably the busiest I’ve ever seen it. With the massive expansion of a couple of years ago, it’s a hard room to make look full, but Saturday was definitely there. packed stem to stern, and a full dance floor pretty much all night. It was great to see all the familiar faces up there, along with a bunch of new flatlanders up for the weekend. We had a great time, and thank Matt and Francis as always for taking great care of us. Not to forget Kyle and Chi Chi at the blazer who did an amazing job as well. We dug it, and we’ll be back!

This weekend brings us on a central Vermont tour, with Gusto’s on Friday and the Rusty Nail on Saturday. We’ve heard that Stowe is rockin’ so get up and enjoy one of the biggest, baddest bars that we play at. Huge dance floor, multi levels, pool tables, food, and the ice bar to top it all off. Definitely worth the weekend in Vermont to cure what ails you! We’ll be hanging out and having fun for the weekend, shouldn’t you?

This week’s awards go to:

The breakfast sandwich award goes to the Outback in West Stewartstown. 4 out of 4 LKP members agree that it is beyond good, and beyond big!

The snow record award I think goes to Jay peak, which got 50 inches. Any better? Let us know.

The inpatient award goes to the lipstick red Dodge. Oh, excuse me, impatient. I was thinking of what he needed to be.

The forgetful award goes to me, gloves in Pittsburg, john not anymore.

And the narcolepsy award goes to john, the guy at Mike and Ed’s table who slept through most of the third set. Hope we didn’t disturb him….

upcoming lkp dates

It was cold, it was windy, it was a great weekend. Although the snow is taking its sweet time coming, the folks at Deegan’s in mount Snow made it a great time. Fridays always seem slow there, but the peeps that showed up were there to have a blast, and then came back for Saturday with a vengeance! It was great to get back to one of the funkiest rooms that we play. The old barn still has all the charm and quirks that it used to. The bumper sticker we put on the floor about 5 years ago is completely worn of its ink, but is still stuck there! special thanks to Keith for coming over and helping us out with sound while Bob the house sound guy had other obligations. We had a great time, and we’ll be back in a month!

This weekend gives us 2 great and busy rooms. This Friday, we rock out the Black Brimmer, and we’ll be excited to keep the temperature up inside, since it looks like it’s still gonna be cold outside. Then we get to follow that up with the Newport opera house, for Newport’s winter carnival. This is a great time, and the NOH is a great room. Come out and play!

This week’s awards go to:

The look alike award goes to the New York dude with the Volkswagen commercial guy (and from Armageddon). This guy nailed it.

The annoying kid award goes to a hotel room under a flight of stairs. Nice choice boys and girls, now let the cranky musicians sleep!

The rock
star award goes to our fans at breakfast, making us feel special and loved with our eggs and pancakes.

The “timber” award goes to the guy who collapsed down the stairs on Saturday night, and looked like he wasn’t gonna get up!

The too many shots award goes to the pant and shirt challenge on Friday night.

The relative award goes to Tim, Kim, Mark and Heather for bringing on the fun both nights, and setting the pace for the rest of us!

And the narcolepsy award goes to the old guys as the young guys stayed up and had fun.

upcoming lkp dates

Well, there is nothing like a three-fer weekend to make it seem like we’re on the road like the olde tyme biggie rock show. We put on a few miles, had some great gigs and a few laughs, and we’re all better for it. Thursday at the Brimmer rocked, even though it was too cold to think. Gusto’s was one of the best nights we’ve had there in a long time, except for the frozen vomit outside… And the Matterhorn rocks as it always does. How can you not like a bar that lets us load out and lock up? Of course that’s probably because we have too much stuff, and they don’t want to wait for us! At any rate, we had a ton of fun, and thanks to all that came out to partake in the enjoyment.

This weekend, we kick off our first time of the season at Deegan’s den at Mount Snow in southern Vermont. This should be a great time, as the room has been renovated, but should still have its funky charm that it’s had for years. Come play with us and you won’t regret it! Next weekend is a Brimmer Friday with a Newport, NH winter carnival Saturday. The winter carnival event is open to all, and tickets are available through the NOH box office. Dinner is available at our friends the Old Courthouse, which is a half a stone’s throw from the venue. Check them out at www.eatatthecourthouse.com. This should be a fun filled weekend, as they all are, but maybe we’ll get some snow to enjoy the winter!

This week’s awards go to:

The codpiece award goes to Nate and Brendan, let me give you a hand!

The fine accommodations award goes to Gusto’s for a pretty comfortable band house.

The swinging fish bowl award goes to the dude on Saturday, and you’re lucky you didn’t lose a hand.

The fastest Dunkin’ ever award goes to Gorham, NH as we arrived after the Norwich women’s hockey team. This dude flew and cleaned house on those orders. Guess which one is the goalie, and kick save and a beauty!

And the narcolepsy award goes to Kyle for Saturday morning. They look so cute when they’re sleeping….
