lkp upcoming dates

Well, a weekend off for some business and some travel, and we should be back with a new sense of purpose this weekend. There’s nothing like a little down time to change your perspective and make it all fun again. Then, you throw in the weather, and maybe all bets are off. Sounds like it’s gonna be a cold one this weekend, so bundle up and keep those molecules moving!

I’ll keep it brief since it’s almost gig time again this week, but I didn’t get a chance to get a message out while I was in LA. Great trade show, great food, lots of cool stuff and some golf to change my attitude. Eric should have a tan?!? And Kyle should have something from AZ to flaunt. I think that Jason got the fuzzy end of the lollipop as far as travel is concerned, but hopefully the week was great for him as well.

Here we go with the dates –

THURSDAY, JANUARY 25
THE BLACK BRIMMER,
MANCHESTER, NH
603-669-5523

FRIDAY, JANUARY 26
GUSTO’S,
BARRE, VT
802-476-7919

SATURDAY, JANUARY 27

MATTERHORN SKI BAR, SUNDAY RIVER, ME
207-824-6271

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 2,3
DEEGAN’S DEN,

That’ll have to do it for this week. New swag has arrived, and I have some new varieties of old faves, plus some great new stuff. I’m still trying to pick out the cool sweatshirt stuff and should have that happening in the next couple of weeks. Any suggestions? I’ll have the clothing catalog with me for you to check out. See ya!

lkp upcoming dates

Another week, and no more snow. We were happy to see smiling faces as we checked out our first return of the season to Sunday River, and had a great time with a ton of old friends and a bunch of new ones. We’re totally looking forward to the winter gigs that we have, and I’m assuming that mother nature will kick it up a couple notches and pound us with some flakes sooner rather than later. We’re crossing our fingers for our snow loving friends, but we like the kind travel conditions so far!

This weekend is a great one for us, and we’re looking forward to the 2 rooms we’re playing. Friday at the Rusty Nail in Stowe never fails to be a hoot, and we hope that you can all make it out to see us in our newest room, the Red Blazer in Concord, NH. We’re hoping that this room will blossom in to another great time that we all have together, and should be nothing but a blast judging from our past experiences. So come out and play both days, or pick one that fits your travel plans, and put on your party hat! We’ll leave a light on for ya!

The need for some awards this week goes to:

Red shirt, white pants. It’s either ski season or the home needs better security. Keep your hands to yourself, Warren.

If it was your birthday, I hope you got what you were looking for by midnight!

Why is it that some dunkin’ employees seem so sleepy? They’re surrounded by coffee!

The breakfast award goes to Gordie Howe’s in Hanover, ME. Or is it the break-slow? All but the home fries rocked.

The cool kids award goes to Greg, Roger and the rest of the staff at the Matterhorn at Sunday River. You guys are the best, and we all slept like babies!

And the 60’s throwback award goes to the décor at the Trail’s end. Hey, at least they had the Newry all-stars on cable.

lkp dates (sorry, posting a little late!)

I always have a hard time explaining some of the cool gigs we do, and try to make it sound like a blast without incriminating anyone. Well, Friday night was the birthday party for the ages. Not the largest crowd we’ve ever played to, but maybe the most enthusiastic! We’d like to thank all of the pole dancers for strutting their stuff, and the “dimple shots”, although I never got one! We had a great time and hopefully made the party a success. For those of you that were there, thanks, and for those that weren’t, we’ll catch you at it next time! After Friday, we probably needed a night off, so we were part of the “all star” jam that was at the Brimmer on Saturday. We got to do some tunes that none of the other bands would probably do, and had a great time doing it. There are few chances a year that we get to play with other bands, we’re usually all out playing the circuit and rarely cross paths when it is playtime. So, the chance to see a few other bands, cross some paths and have a good time is always a good thing. We had some fun and then headed out for some serious holiday driving to see all the relatives and pack a few more miles on the old family truckster. We hope that everyone’s Christmas was a fun one and gave you the chance to visit with friends and loved ones, and get a chance to take a breath before 2007 jumps in our lap!

This weekend is the culmination of a year of gigs with 3 of our faves – Gusto’s Friday, the Brimmer Saturday and the Newport opera house for new years on Sunday night. I’m sure that we’ll be ready for a nap by Monday, and we’ll just have to wait until then to get some sleep! Gusto’s and the Brimmer are always fun, but we’re looking forward to the new years bash. It’s our first time running the whole party and things should be a blast! We love the room, we’ve sold most of the tickets but still have a few left for those who have been dragging their feet! Typically the opera house holds about 300 for events like Halloween, but with no big costumes, we can fit more people in! so, the tickets we have left will bring us up to max capacity, and we’ll take it from there. We’ve got the party favors ready, the hors d’oeuvres are planned and ready, and all the other fun stuff is set to go. If you haven’t made up your mind and would still like to come, we will be accepting online payment to reserve the last tickets, and then hold them at the door. Don’t miss the chance to ring in the new year with the kid, it looks like it’ll be a doozey!

On a side note, Kyle is celebrating his birthday tomorrow night (thurs) at whips in Londonderry. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to tell, but it’s also Tim T and Rob Gourlay on stage at whips on Thursday night, so we figured we’d celebrate with some fine music and ring in K-flew’s bday with a bang and some rippin’ tunes. Come out and play if you get a chance, it’s a great way to make yourself completely worthless at work on Friday!

I’ve been thinking about awards and I’ll keep it simple for this week so we can have a recap next week of the best of 2006 and the weekend.

The navigator award goes to yours truly for Friday night’s extended back road loop to figure out which way is norf!

The dimple award goes to Sheri, we’ll explain later…

The snap and pop award goes to Nate, although there weren’t any brother in law’s around to make the dance machine more interesting!

And the narcolepsy award goes to the Tilton, Sanbornton, Belmont, Northfield, Laconia PD for keeping me awake and on the road on Saturday morning!

Here come the dates, so hang on for the weekend, and here comes ski season!
