Here it is, December again, and we’ve started it off with a couple of Christmas parties. I skipped the news last week, because I wanted to push it all together and make sure I have all the information for y’all to peruse and enjoy. So, here are all the updates:

TICKETS FOR NEW YEARS EVE ARE IN FROM THE PRINTER, AND ARE SHIPPING TO THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY BOUGHT TODAY AND TOMORROW!

We are about half way there on ticket sales, figuring on about 350 to 400 at the Newport Opera house, so if you plan on playing with us, please hit paypal through our website and get those tix in hand. Thanksgiving weekend was a blast, with our double shot at Gustos on Wednesday and Friday, and then the brimmer on Saturday. Well, with the truck getting some work, and the timing getting messed up, we thank UHaul for having the truck to cover us on Wednesday, and then ours back for the weekend. I can’t say they put the “fun” in functional, but it worked. The Saturday night gig had some interesting side notes – see the awards below…

This past weekend was Simon Pearce and Keene Medical Products Christmas parties. We had a blast with everyone, and thank Miller Auto for having Joey Leone and the boys for another party downstairs. We enjoyed the chance to catch up and hear some great music.

This coming weekend, we hit the nail on the head on Friday, and head in to the outback on Saturday. Next weekend, we’ll be the little whippersnappers you’ve all come to know and love.

The main big news that will be on the website as soon as I scan it is, Skiing magazine, December ’06 issue has ranked us number 4 in the top 5 ski town bar bands list! I have to assume that this is the east coast deal, as all the bands are from around here. Our blurb says: they do some wicked pissah Meatloaf and AC/DC covers, ‘nuff said. So, thanks to Mark, Deb, and Bill for their excellent past efforts in the band, and we’ll hope that the talent scout likes the stuff we’re doing now! Kinda funny, but cool that someone pays attention to the little things and still likes the big picture. Check it out if you get a chance, and I’ll have it posted soon.

The liver lover award goes to Barre, VT for hitting it harder and better than most big cities. I have never seen such consumption in my life!

The big brother is watching award goes to the guy in the Volvo. Here’s the scene, band truck on the corner at the brimmer, small car space, another car. Volvo tries to park between us, hits truck, hits car, hits truck, hits car, leaves. Both vehicle owners and about 50 people in the bar watch this happen. What to do? Band truck forward to Volvo bumper, other car back to Volvo bumper, wait. Guy comes back to no exit, and the band in the middle of a set. Thanks to Rob for moving the band truck so the idiot could leave. Thanks to manch PD for having as good a sense of humor as I think we did. Thanks to Volvo boy for leaving without incident, and hopefully thinking before he parks. Just remember, someone may be watching!

The BAM award goes to shock wave coffee at cumbys. Gets you home.

And the narcolepsy award goes to jason, for beating even the shock wave coffee. Asleep in 20 min.
