upcoming lkp dates!

Wow, the only word I can use is wow.  What a great crowd on Friday night at the Paradise!  There were a ton of people, and all the new faces that I saw were equal to the regulars that we had not played in front of in the lakes region for a long time!  We thank you for coming out and having a blast with us, and hope that you will ask the paradise to have us back.  We hope that it will become a regular thing in 2006!  Then, just to make the weekend a complete madhouse, the Lucky Dog was just as busy as it usually is.  A ton of friends, and always new faces up on the border.  We love the great rooms that we play and thank you all for supporting live music!

My apologies for the lateness of this email.  I have been pounded by a summer cold this week, and have spent most of my time on the couch coughing.  It seems to be going away, and I’m a happy camper that it has decided to beat it and move on to the next victim.  Look out for this one, it’s a real hum-dinger!

This week will be a great return to one of our strongholds in the Manchester area, as well as a kicking private party.  We totally look forward to this Friday, and it is a new test for the folks at The Yard.  It is my understanding that they do not draw as well on Friday nights as they do on Saturday.  Please do us a favor and come out to the Yard to prove the theory wrong!  There is nothing better than a strong crowd on a night that is unexpected.  Come one, come all, come early, stay late!  It should be a blast.  Tons of room and lots of tables, and a huge dance floor.  We hope you can make it, and look forward to seeing you out there.

            This week’s awards go to…

The “I fought the law and the law won” award goes to regulars Chris and Becky who were asked to leave way too early on Friday.  I hope to get the whole story!

The attitude to emulate award goes to Truna’s dad, for being a nut, knowing it, and hoping he can convert more of us to the “nut” side!

The host with the most award goes to Bret for taking great care of us all night, and making sure we were all set from red bull to paradise swag!

The weebles wobble award goes to the bridesmaid on Saturday who got drunk enough for all of us, but never seemed to collapse after her night out!

The always there award goes to Bill, Margaret, Ann, Louis, Gene, Nancy, and all the others that we see all the time, and you never seem to tire of us.  We thank you for your loyalty, and your fun that you surround us with!

And the narcolepsy award goes to the bartenders.  If you weren’t tired after all that booze you sold, you should be!

A special note on our upcoming date next Friday at the Rusty Nail – Bill has some friends coming to town and needed a night to catch up with them, so… we are employing the services of Mr. Rob Gourlay, the illustrious brother of our drummer Gord.  Rob is a monster, and will be a ton of fun to play with as well as watch.  If you are looking for a night of strange twists, and some oddball song selections, this is the show to come to!  Rob has not been to the Nail since the night it almost burned down on top of him.  So, with some new owners, and a fresh attitude, Rob joins us to “burn down the house” in our own way!  Please join us if you can for this special show.

Brother Rob At Rusty Nail

Howdy, Just wanted to make everyone aware that on Sept,2nd, for one nite only there is going to be a different face on stage with us. Bill is taking a nite off. My brother Rob Gourlay will be taking the bass position for the evening at the Rusty Nail in Stowe Vt. He is the only guy that we felt comfortable with to fill Bill's shoes. He being my brother and all it, I cannot tell you how much this is a cool thing for me and the rest of the band. Rob is one of the best players to ever come out of these parts. The irony of all of this is, the last time he played the nail with his band "Ring", the nail burnt to the ground with all of the bands gear being lost in the fire. Complications having to do with legal matters with the previous ownership having to due with that fire, are the reason last kid picked didn't play the Rusty Nail for years. My loyalty, and the bands loyalty, to my brother and sister in law was more important to us than having the previous ownership make money from anything we were part of. The band has always stood behind me on how I felt about this. The only thing that is going to be burning on the 2nd at the nail is the music we are playing with my brother Rob. This is a show you don't want to miss!!! see you there, Gord

Hi folks, Just wanted to remind everyone once again, that this friday at the Paradise Beach Club is our only show in the lakes region this summer season. We are really looking forward to it. Been to far to long as far as we are concerned. For those of you who have not been there before, this is one rocking class A niteclub, with a huge dance floor for you to cut loose on. We plan on making sure you do. Don't forget also that Sat we are back up at the Lucky Dog in Newport Vt, playing for the huge fan base that seems to grow bigger everytime we go back. Thank you all for making our nites with you, as allways, happen in a big way. See ya all at the show, Gord

upcoming lkp dates!

The nights that we play back to back at any given club always have a tendency to make for fun weekends, and a lot of friends showing up to play with us!  Whippersnappers was no exception this past weekend, as Saturday rocked, and Friday was about one of the busiest nights I have seen there.  Just a ton of people, lots of new faces, and plenty of regulars to make the weekend go by fast.  Special thanks to Drew for his comic relief and guitar skills at breakdown time on Saturday night, and the rest of the boys and girls at whips for making us feel like kings!  We look forward to the next time there!

This week is a doozey with our one return of the summer to the Paradise Beach Club in Weirs Beach, and a return to the northern hot spot of the Lucky Dog way up in Newport, VT.  Our chance to squeeze a show in in the lakes region is a treat for us, and we hope that we’ll see some old familiar faces as well as a bunch of crazy individuals out to have some fun on Friday!  Check out the premier nightclub in the lakes region and party on with the kid!

upcoming lkp dates!

Major switch, there was a snafu with the scheduling at the brimmer that I never changed, and we are not in manchester this Friday!  I apologize to those who are expecting us in the jewel of southern NH, and we’ll be back as soon as humanly possible.  So, this Friday we will return to the Eagle Tavern in Newport, NH, the local bar that we don’t play often enough because it’s an “intimate” room.  Great for being up close and personal with the guys in the band, but the dance floor is a little small!  We love it there, and thank Jeff and Dave for working out the short notice gig for us.  Next week’s gigs may be changing on Thursday as well, the brimmer may be closed for some renovations, and may not have them finished by then.  We’ll see as we get closer to the date.

Thanks to all for being understanding, and we’ll see you out in the streets!

This past week was, well, out of control.  Thursday at the Brimmer, was the busiest I have seen it, and the energy was fantastic.  Happy birthday, Meg, and hope you had a great time.  Friday in Barre was in conjunction with their street fest, so there were tons of people out, and fried dough and other tasty treats for the taking that we indulged in!  Saturday in maine at the Shak was a typical night in a bar, a little slow to start, nuts the rest of the night, and over before we knew it.  Thanks to Dana for being the party animal that he is, and to Tommy for keeping it all under control.

This week’s awards go to:

The high energy award goes to Meg and the girls for having a great birthday.  Also, the staff of Forever 21 for dressing up and getting down!

The best deal of the weekend award goes to the comfort inn in St. Johnsbury, VT for the VP suite at 4:30 in the morning for a sweet deal.  Thanks, guys!

The last minute room award goes to the Linnell motel in Rumford for their late night accommodations, and the people partying in the parking lot at 3 am offering us to join in on their festivities.  Well done, ladies and gents!

And the narcolepsy award goes to Roastmaster Jimmy Kimmel, because he actually does suffer from the affliction, instead of my little weekly joke.
