Well, another 2 night weekend goes by, and the crowds were great in the north country!  Thanks to Pete and the girls at the Lucky Dog for making it a ton of fun.  Also, we need to send out some love to the women from the softball tourney that was in town… needless to say, they showed up to have fun and did just that!  All the best to the crew from Barre that came out specifically to go crazy with us, we’re sorry that you had curfew for the next day’s game!

This week cruises along with a 3 night swing around the northeast.  We start it off tonight in Manchester with the acoustic version of LKP at the Brimmer.  Next we roll to Barre – look out softball ladies! – and knock it out at the world famous Gusto’s.  Then, we finish off the weekend with our return to the Shak in Rumford, Maine.  A little off the beaten path, but definitely worth the trip!  So go for a little summer tour with us and see three states that are all about summer!

This week’s awards go to..

The hot in herre award goes to Pete “Nelly” Kellaway for his impersonation of a beer truck.  This man keeps it stocked and cold all night long!

The happy hooker award goes to the Barre ladies softball team.  Their nickname, not mine.

The birthday boy award goes to Bill Hartman for quietly enjoying a night out with a million friends.

The Newport Hilton award goes to Jaime for providing excellent accommodations at a fair and reasonable price!

And the narcolepsy award goes to the cat across the street from the bar, for finding the best place to sleep – a roof overlooking main street!

upcoming lkp dates!

Cooked some eggs on the hood of the truck this week, hot just doesn’t describe the conditions as of late.  I hope that summer sticks with us for a while, but I’d rather have it over a couple of months instead of all at once!  Our double shot at the Brimmer was a complete blast.  We thank Diane, Mark and the rest of the great staff there for making the whole weekend a success, and keeping us hydrated.  So many friends and fun peeps that were out this weekend made it a rockin’ weekend, and we’ll just have to do it again!  This week has gone by so fast since the weekend, that it is Thursday, and I’m feelin’ pretty guilty about not getting to the weekly news until now.  My apologies for the tardiness of my work.  This weekend brings us another 2 night swing with the hot spot of Northern Vermont, the Lucky Dog Pub.  Another whole weekend in one location – how can we complain?  We look forward to 2 great nights with Pete and his staff, and hope that a little vacation on the Canadian border will be just the ticket for late July.  Come on up, the weather’s fine!

A bunch of awards must go out this week to satisfy the masses….

The long distance and endurance award goes to Melissa and Bobby for coming up from the southland and sticking it out all weekend

The patience award goes out to Kristie for putting up with Keith…. Well, somebody has to….

The hydration situation award goes to all that made it through a sweltering weekend

The pretty gosh darn ecstatic award goes to miss amanda hugandkiss for actually saying Yes.

The right place, right time award goes to John the hot dog/sausage guy for hitting the spot after a long night.

And the narcolepsy award goes to Frank, we’re glad to have you back, man!

Paradise beach club

Hey, Just a reminder we are finally back in the lakes region coming up on august 19th at the Paradise Beach Club at Weirs Beach. I am pretty sure that this is our only show there this summer so come and check it out. The place ROCKS!!!! and even cooler than that the owner Mr. Brett Loring is a fellow drummer buddy of mine. It will be nice to only have a 10 min ride home for a change,at least for a nite. Looking forward to seeing you out there on the floor! Gord

Thank you

Hello everybody! I just wanted to say thanks to every single person who has ever attended one of our shows. Means alot to me and to the rest of the band. I have been sitting on my drums up there with Johnny going into year nine. I find that pretty amazing in it's self. That is like being married about 50 times in band life. Alot of cool stuff is brewing for last kid picked. One MAJOR thing is Bill's(aka:Willis) studio is allmost done over at BILLYWOOD. It is kind of like graceland without all the blacklite pictures and there is no jungleroom, at least to my knowledge. But Bill has done a great job on making it come together. YOU GO WILLIS!!!!!!!! What a great facility to be able to get some things happening. Yes our own stuff, what a concept huh? Kinda like X-mass for all of us. As you probally know we are at Whippersnappers Thursday and Rusty Nail on Friday. I hope to see you there. If anyone would like to get in touch with me,please do so, either thru the band or thru my email which is a58gord@hotmail.com Again, Thank you ALL for all your support!! Remember to allways be rockin!! GORD

Hey is this thing on?

Is this thing on? Dammit Spock, I'm a drummer not a ......

New Toys!

Well we are kicking and screaming in to the new millennium, boys and girls!  This should be a cool new way for us to post items from all band members and we can see what is important to all of us, that I may forget about in the weekly newsletter.  Thanks for checking us out, and your comments are appreciated.  We look forward to this new way to keep in touch with you, and hopefully keep ourselves current!  Song requests, ideas and fun stuff are always accepted.  Take care and see you out and about!  You can also email ideas to info@lastkidpicked.com as well.

Thanks,

John
