lkp upcoming dates

Is it me, or is summer here and moving fast? It seems like we’re getting into the meat of the summer, and I haven’t even had a chance to look up yet. A 3 gig weekend will do that to a band! Friday at electra with their 6th anniversary was a blast, lots of new faces and some of the old regulars that we have come to know and love. The requests were funny, and the outcome of the requests was a blast for all of us in the band. Saturday night at the Anchorage was fast and furious, turning from a usual 3 set night to the power 2 set night to fit all the music in. Again, a great crowd with lots of energy and stamina to boot! Saturday night rolled into Sunday afternoon, and we played a going away party for our dear friends Ken and Genevieve. Ken is the manager at the Rusty nail, former owner of the Thirsty Turtle (for those who remember). He and his wife are moving back to her neck of the woods this fall – which is Perth Australia. K+G, we will miss you, and now have a great reason for that Australian tour. The whole slew of crazies from the Nail and surrounding areas came out on Sunday afternoon to have a going away bash, and we were happy to be a part of it. All the best down the road, and we’ll see you down under!

Coming up this weekend, we have a special Friday edition at the Red Blazer for race weekend. There will be all kinds of things going on at the Blazer this Friday night, it is one not to be missed! Radio remotes, great food and all things you would expect for a crazy race weekend. Come play with us and have a blast at the Blazer! Saturday is a night off to prep the new band truck for its duties (Yes, Keith, you heard right, new wheels that will hopefully give us a few whiles without stories of blowing spark plugs, rear ends (your joke here) and or any other mishaps that the current truck has given me to write about). It should be a great new addition to the band to keep things rolling down the highway.

Next weekend is our kickoff in Maine at Rick’s café in Naples. This is one of our new summer faves. Great location on the water, fun as all get go, and not too far away from all the different homes of Maine or NH residents. An excellent place to visit and take a load off for the weekend! Get ready for 7/7/07 at Rick’s!

This week’s awards go to:

The courage under fire award goes to Kyle for learning a tune via ipod on the first break at electra. Now we just have to practice it to make it better!

The odd request award goes to whomever yelled Pantera, and caused the impromptu heavy third set intro including the Digital Underground and Green Jelly references!

The insta song award goes to Kate for giving me all the info to come up with .65 of a song on Sunday.

The angry dolphin award also goes to Kate, since she started it!

And the narcolepsy award goes to all that got to drive home on Sunday night/Monday morning!

upcoming lkp dates

First of all, it is now Wednesday am. My power supply for my laptop smoked itself on Saturday at the Outback, so I have been computerless for over a week. Let’s just say, thank you ebay for my new power supply, but I would have liked some faster shipping options. Now that we’re back in business, I’ll be getting to the dates at hand, and getting everyone back up to date. Second, I want to apologize for the messup on the schedule this past weekend. Some thought we were at the Brimmer on Saturday, and I thought I had changed the date a while back. I’ve got to assume that I dropped the ball on the change, and I hope we didn’t mess up anyone’s schedule too badly. With all that out of the way, here goes on the updates from the past weeks, and what’s going on in the near future!

2 weekends ago, in a land far, far away-

The nail was a blast as always. Kenny and the rest of the kids had fun with us, and we enjoyed all the new faces that we seem to see in Stowe. Turn the corner to West Stewartstown, and we again had a great time. There were some fantastic dancers and energy, along with a moose to see on the trip over. Flash to Sunday, and a little trip to Maine to meet my cousin’s new little one and the weekend is complete. Getting to be a godfather is sweet, need I say more.

1 weekend ago, and the week in between-

Too much work to enjoy bike week, but that will have to do. A couple times around the weirs to see the sights, and have some festival chow to make us happy. Friday night off? Ok, let’s people watch at bike week, and get a good night’s sleep! Saturday at the Red Blazer was again a treat. Some interesting dance styles I must say, and some hopeful fun for all. Special thanks to Sarandis for the lobster he sent me home with. The bigger claw was bigger than MY hand. So, needless to say, about the biggest mud bug I have ever seen. I had to cook the top half, then break off the claws and fit it all in the biggest pot I had! Wow, what a sweet addition to Sunday. By the way, happy father’s day to all the fathers out there. we appreciate all that you do.

This coming weekend, we’re in the upper valley. On Friday at Electra, they are celebrating their 6th anniversary with the Kid! I can’t believe it has been that long, but the years just keep on rolling by. Special events all day and night at Electra with radio stations, giveaways and all that good stuff. So come celebrate the anniversary with LKP and Electra. We’ll have a blast!

Saturday is our first time of the season at the Anchorage in Sunapee. This is usually a packed house, so come early and swim home later! Yet again we look forward to another fun season at the only spot on the lake.

This week’s awards go to:

The unexpected treat award goes to Sarandis and the Red Blazer. 5 pound + lobster doesn’t stink at all!

The get well soon award goes to Chi Chi. We missed you on Saturday and hope to see you soonest!

The beer shower award goes to B. nice aim! No officer, I haven’t been drinking, I’m target practice!

The angry dolphin award goes to all who enjoyed a little fun on Saturday.

The slow down award goes to the wine and dance couple. Gravity 1, you 0.

The good sport award goes to Logan. Never has one man had so many song lyrics changed to be about him and taken it with a smile!

The gimpy award goes to me for sciatic nerve 101. anyone else want to stare at my shoes, I can’t stand up straight!

And the narcolepsy award goes to Eric. All those miles this past week, you must need a nap!

lkp upcoming dates

Last week was a blast. We had a return to the Newport, VT locale for some more fun on both Friday and Saturday. The Rendezvous was a little quieter than last time. Maybe the nice weather scared everyone away to the grill, not the dance floor. Saturday was one of the best parties we’ve played in a long time. Great friends, great food, and some unexpected additions on the video screen made it one for the ages. We thank everyone for their good nature and late night antics.

This week, we return to the scene of the crime in Stowe with the Rusty Nail crew! I hate to play faves, but for the layout and setup factor alone, the Nail is the best bar we play at. Huge dance floor, food, and all the amenities that a growing band would want. Top this weekend off with a trip to moose country and the Outback in West Stewartstown. More great vittles, and fun folks will abound as we head to the 45th parallel.

The past few week’s awards go to:

The chicken dance award goes to Canada, or at least one Canadian. We’re sorry we took advantage of your good nature.

The trombone solo goes to the Kid. ‘Nuff said.

The good kid award goes to Scott. His recent loss with his bout with cancer was sad news to all of us in the band. His help, smile and good nature will be missed.

The heat award goes to Gustos, before I forget the fact that I thought I was melting – again!

The “mondo topless” award (Opie and Anthony fans might get that) goes to the bride and the photos to prove it. Thanks for the images in our side view mirror!

The fine food award goes to the East Side catering division, which set out an amazing spread on Saturday. We were impressed and stuffed!

The rubbing is racing award goes to the red ford explorer on 93 south. Guard rail 1, ford 0. But, you took the lead despite the damage to the ride!

And the narcolepsy award goes to the jack daniel’s. I think jack is just sleeping, but we might have killed him on Friday night!

upcoming lkp dates

Well, last weekend was a scorcher. Gusto’s hit some new record highs as far as temperature and crowd, and then the dance floor heated up at the Blazer on Saturday. Let’s just say the dance off was caught on tape, and I hope it’s never found! We had a great time, despite the heat of Friday night, and we’re looking forward to this weekend and next. Just a quick note for my Friday morning quarterbacking, and we’ll see you out on the dance floor.
