lkp upcoming dates!

Well, it’s the start of the next era of LKP and we would like to thank all of you that came out to play with us this past weekend. We’d also like to thank Kyle for bringin’ it to the table both nights and kicking some serious butt! We had a great weekend at Whips, and look forward to the many more that are coming our way in the years to come. With our first couple of gigs behind us, we look at how much more fun it will be once we all figure out the head fakes and odd cues that we all use. Our kudos to Kyle for making it look easy, and playing like he’s been there for a long time.

This coming week/weekend gives us a triple shot around the sleepiest day of the year. Tonight, and Friday we will be doing the annual Gusto’s 2 day bash, featuring all of your old friends coming home to Barre for the holiday. We hope that you will all make it out to play with us and have some fun! Then, Saturday returns us to the scene of the crime, so to speak, at the Black Brimmer. We’ll be ready and raring to go for all of these gigs, and hope that any and all can join in the fun. Be sure to have a great thanksgiving, and don’t eat too much! Only 4 slices of pie per person!

This week’s awards go to:

The masonry award goes to Kyle for laying down one mean foundation

The Murphy award goes to light bulbs, fuses, haze, and everything else that broke on Friday and got fixed on Saturday.

The “Bagga-D…” award goes from Mamma to table 70 on Saturday night. 70 cents on a 60 dollar bar tab is no way to tip. I’ve got to assume that they were not LKP regulars…

The humorless D… award goes to our non French loving “fan” at the end of the night. Sorry that you can’t get the joke that virtually every other person in the bar liked. And if you don’t like Neil sung in French, then please go to Chez Quoi? Instead of coming to see us. Bring your funny bone or stay home!!!

The fantastic vittles award goes to Friday and all the folks in the kitchen who kicked my butt both nights with some great stuff!

And the narcolepsy award goes to Sunday, which made me miss the benefit at the Brimmer. Hope you all made it out to support officer Briggs, and we’ll be part of one in months to come!

lkp upcoming dates!

After 2 weekends off, we are surely ready to play this weekend and on into the next few whiles. With the engines recharged, and Kyle in the driver’s seat, we’re all set to start the next leg of the LKP juggernaut. (I shall call him “mini-juggernaut”). We’re looking forward to kicking things off at Whippersnappers this weekend. It’ll give us a chance to focus on some new tunes and getting the old ones tight after a few weeks of practice! The request for new tunes is coming along, and we’ll be adding a bunch more as we move along over the next few weeks. It’s kind of tough to throw 70 tunes at a guy and then hope that he’s immediately ready to do more new stuff (or at least new to him), so we’ll give Kyle a little time to let it settle in, and then we’ll hit’em again.

The big updates for this week are New years and Myspace. First of all, here’s all the info as I have it for new years-

December 31, 9pm-1am, at the Newport Opera House, Newport, NH
21+ only with proper ID
$25.00 per person includes us, hors d’oeuvres, champagne at
midnight and party favors.
Tickets are on sale online through the lkp website, just click on the buy now button in the schedule for paypal, or snail mail info is there as well.
Tickets are currently at the printers and will ship at the end of Nov, beginning of Dec, depending on when I get them.
Tables will be reserved in the order that tickets are sold. There will be seating for just over 200 on the main floor, and after that, seating is general admission (standing or upstairs). I think that’s it, if anyone has any questions, email me or call the 359 number below.

Next on the list is myspace. I’ve had a lot of people talk about it, and I guess I must come kicking and screaming into the 00’s with this one. The official site is www.myspace.com/lastkidpickedband. Come be our friend, and do all those myspace things that I’m too old to get. I’m sure we’ll get it up to speed and have more than like 2 friends, but hey, 2 is not bad unless you’re Dane Cook, who has like a billion. We’ll get there some day! So check it out, make suggestions, tell us what’s cool and we’ll go from there.
