upcoming lkp dates

Here we go with another weekend of classic fun and great times!  The past weekend in Manchester was by all accounts the busiest we have seen it in a long time.  The brimmer was its typical nuthouse, and the yard was packed to the gills with some fine dancing and familiar faces!  Thanks to all who had a blast with the kid, and made the weekend fly by.  We always laugh at how quickly things pass, and then it is recovery Sunday again.  We’ll just have to remember to stop and smell the roses more often while we’re playing, and not have to reminisce about it in the afterglow.

This weekend is our only double shot in Maine, so if you’re going skiing, get up to Sunday river and party it out on Friday and Saturday with the kid at the Matterhorn.  Great food, cool peeps, and some of the largest drinks in the state.  So good it must be against the law somewhere!  We look forward to another weekend with Greg, Roger and the rest of the staff at the Horn, and we’ll be the ones looking for things to do on Saturday day, as we all don’t have the balance and brains to ski!  Maybe the base lodge will call our name for some couch time and a hot toddy.  Get there early on Saturday and catch our brother from another mother, Bill Cameron holding down happy hour from 4-8 pm

Next week is another double shot weekend at our Londonderry hangout, Whippersnappers.  We’ll be doing Friday and Saturday the 3rd and 4th of March, and then rounding out our weekend with an early week gig that we’d like to see you at.  We will be participating in a benefit at Higher Ground in Burlington on Monday the 6th of March.  Our friend Ali and her crew of Triathletes will be doing an Olympic triathlon in Tennessee to raise money for the leukemia and lymphoma society.  Tix for the Monday night event are a recommended donation of 15 dollars, with the proceeds going to the L&L society.  We are donating our time, and you should come play with us if you are in the Burlington area (also known as most of VT and northern NH!)  Beer, Bait and Ammo takes the stage at 6pm, with LKP at 7:30.  we will probably be doing a long set until about 9 or so, so it will be an early night, and for a great cause.  I hope to see tons of our friends from the Barre/Waterbury/Stowe area who can come out and have some fun with us.  Check out the info at www.highergroundmusic.com or link through the LKP website to it.  What else is there to do on a Monday?  Watch TV? Hang out?  Come on!  Dance it up and get that warm feeling of doing a good thing!  Enough guilt?  I hope so!  We’ll be there to have a blast, so join us in the mayhem!

This week’s awards go to:

The behind bars award goes to mel, who needs to update our merch page soon since we have so many new styles and colors.

upcoming lkp dates!

Here we are again, after another fantastic weekend of gigs, and now summer is here with the current weather conditions, but I’ll try to not get used to it!  Our dear friends in Newport, (both NH and VT) came out in force this past weekend to have some fun.  Vermont was fantastic on Friday, with one of the busiest nights I have seen at the Dog.  So many happy faces, dancing and having a great time.  With nights like that, it is hard to imagine a whole weekend with as much fun on both nights.  Well, Saturday did not disappoint, as we sold out the opera house, and the partiers were there in force!  Over 300 dancing fools having a blast and cleaning out the bar.  We can’t say enough great things about all of our old and new friends that came out to play with us.  More to follow in the awards!

This weekend hopes to be the same type of energy as we do a double shot in Manchester at the Brimmer and Yard respectively.  This should be one for the record books as we celebrate the start of president’s day weekend with a couple of great gigs.  We’ll be hootin’ and hollerin’ all weekend long with the crazy folks of the manch area.  Hope to see you all there!

In my normal bonehead nature, I have been lax in sending the weekly news to the blog, so those of you who check out the website, I’ll be better about getting it up there.

In additional band news, Gord has officially started taking students for drum lessons at Greenlaws music in Laconia.  He’ll be teaching Wednesdays, and if you know of people who need to drum, gord’s the man to go to for lessons.  We’ll be putting up information on the website, and if anyone needs to ask questions about it, email gord at a58gord@hotmail.com.

This week’s awards go to:

The crazy coiffure award goes to Louis for one for the record books!  Call Paul Mitchell, call walt and ernie’s no-shave! Call anybody!

The fantastic mobile dinner award goes to the Old Courthouse Restaurant for delivering a tasty meal on Saturday.  Even on the go, the food was outstanding, and the service impeccable!

There are almost too many dance awards to give out this week, from Christian and that guy getting down to michael Jackson on Friday, to the clusters of ladies dancing like crazy on Saturday, we see you and are glad you are having fun!

The hard work award goes to Woo, who was there before us on Saturday, and almost there after us at the end of the night!  Get some sleep!

And the narcolepsy award goes to all of us who slept in on Sunday, despite the cats or kids, or obligations that may have been nipping at our noses!
